In moments where they are supposed to be excited or happy about something, that enthusiasm in the voice actors never reaches their eyes when it comes to the animation. It is similar to looking at a static image where only the mouth moves. I feel like the characters had way too many moments where they are just expressionless while they talk. But when it comes to the facial expressions in almost every scene, they leave me wanting. The backgrounds in the show were certainly amazingly detailed, and I found myself loving the shots of the characters walking through the park among the hydrangeas. However, with their work for this animation, I do think they dropped the ball when it came to a lot of aspects. Studio Pierrot has a very long history in the animation business, having produced some of my favorite shows including: Yu Yu Hakusho, Great Teacher Onizuka, and more recently Polar Bear Cafe. The simulcast was licensed by Crunchyroll and ran for a total of twelve episodes. It started as a multimedia project by the publisher Kadokawa, first as a mook (or like a cross between magazine and book), then a bundled drama CD, before being picked up for animation by Studio Pierrot. It continues to follow these four high schoolers, two girls (Mashiki and Mihashi) and two boys (Mishima and Honda), as they make their way through their last years of school and the troubles that come with it. The story centers around a group of four friends who always stop at a convenience store on their way home from school and the relationships that develop from chance meetings. I mentioned in my Summer 2017 First Impressions that this is primarily a fluffy and easy watch in terms of romance, but ultimately feels dull if you’re looking for something more, and I’m going to stand by that assessment for this review. Short answer: not really? It’s an anime with a lot of problems that tries so hard at being good, but ultimately pales in comparison to others that have taken its concepts further. I decided now was probably a good time to revisit what made me drop it and find out if it actually got any better in the following episodes. But since there are more waitresses, it's become better.Konbini Kareshi was one of those animes that I wound up dropping after about four episodes last season. I also have to mention that it happened to us a few times that we wanted to order takeaway but nobody picked up the phone, although they were open. My most favourite things apart from sushi: pumpkin salad with apple (I can literally eat it day and night, it's in the attached picture), ebi tempura (man, they are gorgeous, also in the picture) and there's also a special kind of sushi with prawns which is served warm (the sauce is simply divine). It's worth mentioning that we are regular customers at KomeKome and we have takeaway every single weekend. The dishes are always delicious (my husband and I are huge sushi lovers and we've been to many-many other similar places). This is an exceptional Japanese restaurant. It is really a shame, because it was one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Nürnberg. Would I visit again? Only if I had no other option, and even then I would be skeptic. The price is high and the food is unexceptional. Summarizing: is the restaurant bad? No, but it is not good either, and it is completely different to the old Indocine. There is also sushi on the menu but I have not tried it. There are several Thai Imbiss with tastier offers and better presentation that cost half of what we paid.Īpart from that, the service was fast and the personal friendly. In other circumstances I would gladly pay that much, but not for what we got. The presentation of the food was average, resembling more an Imbis. The curry was not bad, but it was miles away from what I knew from Indocine. The size of the portions is on the smaller side. My girlfriend and I ordered a couple of currys. A quick Google search showed that the restaurant changed owner on April. Today I visited again after a long time, and noticed that the menu was different. The presentation of the food was always good, and the taste was amazing. This was one of my places to go for a good curry. I've been a regular customer of Indocine for roughly 6 years.
